Lucyna Stanczak-Wuczynska has over 30 years experience in financial and infrastructure industries.
Lucyna is currently the Chair of BNP Paribas Bank in Poland and the member of the Supervisory Board of Banca Transylvania, in Romania. She is also an Adviser to Pollen Street Capital, a London based private equity fund. During her professional career Lucyna held numerous non-executive roles as well as advisory positions, in the CEESEE region, in financial institutions, infrastructure companies as well as private equities, including Actis Private Equity Fund in London, Erste Bank, Hungary, Concordia 21, PE Fund CEE, Alior Bank, Poland, Polish Sovereign Wealth Fund.
For the last 21 year Lucyna has been associated with the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development, as Country Director for Poland (2008-2014) and then as the Regional Financial Institution Director for CEE and SEE regions (2014-2020) managing the portfolio of over 4bln EUR. Her major focus was investing (in equity and debt and) in the CEESEE financial institutions, portfolio management and value creation, FS DCM investing, risk sharing products and funding. Lucyna was also engaged in policy dialogue with local and regional stakeholders, EU institutions, in structural reforms, including banking sector regulations, capital market development, privatisations and listing, energy transformation, ESG. Prior to that, Lucyna was an infrastructure banker. Before joining the EBRD Lucyna worked with ABN Amro Bank and Credit Lyonnaise in Poland in the structured and corporate finance areas.
In her professional career Lucyna was focusing also on sustainability and climate. At present she chairs the advisory committee of Chapter Zero Poland, the climate corporate governance initiative under the auspices of the World Economic Forum and the Climate Governance Initiative Global FS HUB.
Lucyna Stanczak-Wuczynska has a master’s degree in Economics from the Warsaw School of Economics and completed advanced post graduate European studies in Economics in the College of Europe in Bruges, Belgium.
