I have been working on boards of directors for 30 years. I am an investment banker, an attorney-at-law and a certified organizational behaviorist, specializing in group dynamics, development, and mediation. I studied in Poland (UAM – summa cum laude), in the Netherlands (Leiden Univ., The Hague – TMC Asser Institute), the US (Georgetown, UC Hastings – Fulbright Fellow) and in France (INSEAD – Certificate in Global Management, ICC4, ACG1).
I believe that knowledge of finance, strategy, marketing or law is important. However, the ability to create healthy teams and their cooperation is decisive for corporate success. Companies are created by people. Their relations and persistence at work are crucial for business and its success.
The supervisory board should be responsible for the most important decisions of the company. Unfortunately, boards in Poland are too often perceived as façade institutions, without any real involvement. It is high time supervisory boards regained their importance. It is in the interest of our economy and of the companies themselves..
