He has been involved in the capital market since its inception in 1991, when he joined the brokerage office of CDM Pekao SA.
Currently an independent member of the Supervisory Board of NWAI DM S.A.
From 2019 to 2023, he held the position of Deputy Chairman of the Financial Authority (KNF), where, among other things, he oversaw the Capital Market Supervision Division, implementing a reorganization of the way it operates and a transformation to risk-based supervision.
He collaborated in the drafting of the Law on Ensuring the Development of the Financial Market and the Protection of Investors in the Market enacted in 2023.
Member of ESMA’s Board of Supervisors from 2021 to 2023.
During his tenure, he represented the FSC on the WSE’s Corporate Governance Committee.
From 2014 until his appointment to the KNF, a member of the Board of Directors of MetLife TUnŻiR as Director of the Investment Division, he was responsible for the group’s investment area in Poland, including in his role as a member of the Supervisory Boards of MetLife TFI and MetLife PTE.
In parallel, since 2015, he has overseen the Investment and Pension Funds business in the ESE region, expanding his oversight to the EMEA region in 2017.
Prior to that, he served as CEO of Amplico PTE from 2010 to 2013, where he started working in the investment department with the launch of the pension reform in 1999. In 2004, he assumed the duties of Director of the Investment Department, from the beginning managing the portfolio of the fourth largest OFE.
Previously, he managed the insurance portfolios of AGF insurance companies and participated in the establishment of the American Bank Brokerage in Poland.
Rafał Mikusiński is a graduate of the Faculty of Organization and Management at the University of Warsaw. He holds a securities broker’s license, and has also completed courses in investment advisory, for securities analysts, and preparing for the CFA exam.
