
Bernard Cichocki
He is a highly accomplished executive with extensive expertise in business leadership, corporate restructuring, and investment project management. He has served on supervisory boards and boards of directors across multiple organizations, including Lotos E&P Norge AS, Interferie S.A., Energetyka Sp. z o.o., Jelcz Sp. z o.o., Autosan Sp. z o.o., Orlen Petrogaz Wrocław Sp. z o.o., Przedsiębiorstwo Gazyfikacji Bezprzewodowej S.A., and Zakład Utylizacji Odpadów Komunalnych in Kobierniki near Płock.
He possesses a distinguished track record of leading large teams and managing complex processes within both Polish and international business environments. He demonstrates exceptional proficiency in optimizing corporate structures, driving successful restructuring initiatives, and overseeing high-value investment projects. He has extensive experience in managing publicly traded enterprises with a mix of State Treasury and private capital, consistently delivering strategic improvements and sustainable growth.
He is a graduate of the Faculty of Mechanical, Energetics and Aviation Engineering at the Warsaw University of Technology, as well as the Warsaw School of Economics and Kozminski University. He has completed executive education programs at the Business Academy and the Canadian International Management Institute. Additionally, he holds an MBA and has successfully completed a certification course for candidates for supervisory boards of state-owned companies, culminating in a qualifying examination.
With a career spanning over three decades in the energy and fuel sector, he has been actively engaged in the industry since 1992. Between 1992 and 2001, he held key roles at Gaspol S.A. (SHV Holding), where he oversaw the design and construction of Poland’s first offshore gas reloading terminal. He also represented the Danish side in the Baltic Pipe project. From 2002 to 2010, he served as Vice President and later President of ORLEN GAZ Sp. z o.o. in Płock. Subsequently, he led BARTER S.A. and held the position of Country Manager at DAXIN Poland Sp. z o.o., part of the Daxin Petroleum PTE Ltd. group.
From 2016 to 2018, he served as President of Huta Stalowa Wola S.A., where he played a pivotal role in securing one of the largest contracts with the Ministry of Defense for the supply of KRAB howitzers under the REGINA technical modernization program for the armed forces. During his tenure, he successfully implemented a recovery program that led HSW S.A. to achieve its highest net profit since 1989.
Between 2018 and 2024, he was President of KGHM ZANAM S.A., a subsidiary of the KGHM Polska Miedź S.A. Group. He is credited with executing a strategic recovery program that enabled the company to achieve record-breaking financial performance.
