Jacek Jonak

Legal advisor specializing in financial markets, M&A and corporate matters. Actively participating in the development of the Polish capital market since its very beginnings in the early 1990s.

Currently, he is the managing partner at Jonak i Partnerzy.

From 1997 until 2007, Jacek was a partner at Allen&Overy international law firm, where he headed the Warsaw capital markets and derivatives practice.

From 1992 until 1996 he served in the Polish Securities and Exchange Commission, as Secretary of the Commission and, from 1995, as Deputy Chairman of the Commission for Market Supervision.

From 1989 until 1990 he worked at the Ministry of Finance, in the Office of the Government Plenipotentiary for Ownership Transformation, where, among others, he served as the secretary of the team that developed the institutional and legal framework for the Polish capital market, including the draft of the Polish Securities Act of 22 March 1991.

Since 2007, he has been the Chairman of the Supervisory Board of IPOPEMA Securities S.A. (until 2022 he was also the Chairman of its Audit Committee). From 2012 until 2022, he was a member of the Supervisory Board of Aviva PTE S.A. (since 2015, the Chairman of its Audit Committee).

Since 2008, he has been a member of the board of the Alliance of Faimilies Association (the association does not conduct business activity).

Arbitrator of the Court of Arbitration at the National Chamber of Commerce, he also resolved cases in the Arbitration Court at the Polish Bank Association.

Member of the panel of experts in the field of financial markets P.R.I.M.E. based in The Hague.

From 1997 until 2007 (the establishment of a permanent embassy), he was the honorary consul of the Grand Duchy of Luxembourg in Poland.

He graduated from the Faculty of Law and Administration of the University of Warsaw (1989) and, as a foreign student, the Ecole nationale d’administration in Paris (promotion Condorcet 1992).
