Jakub Bojanowski

Experienced consultant and manager specializing in risk management, internal audit, IT audit, and cybersecurity management. For over 20 years Jakub was associated with Deloitte, where as a partner he has led Risk Advisory division in Poland and Central Europe.

As one of the first Certified Internal Auditors (CIA), he was involved in promoting corporate governance standards in Poland. He has advised on the creation of internal audit departments in Polish companies and conducted miscellaneous internal audits commissioned by management and supervisory boards. He has also led a team responsible for implementation and audit of internal financial controls in accordance with the Sarbanes-Oxley Act.  

Jakub is a co-author of a series of reports "Modern Supervisory Board" prepared (in 2007 and 2012) by Deloitte with the Polish Institute of Directors. As part of this cooperation, he has participated in a number of educational events organized by PID.

Jakub is a graduate of computer science at the University of Warsaw and the main area of his professional activity is related to the subject of IT Governance. For over 25 years he is Certified Information Systems Auditor (CISA) and specialises on compliance of IT processes and systems with cybersecurity regulations and standards. As part of this role, he supervised a group of “ethical hackers” performing controlled cyberattacks on IT systems. Already in 2000, he audited one of the first electronic banking systems launched in Poland. Recently he has been involved in educational activities related to the implementation of DORA Regulation focusing on the role of governing bodies of financial institutions.

Jakub is a long-term member of the IIA (Institute of Internal Auditors) and ISACA (Information Systems Audit and Control Association). For over 10 years he has been an honorary member of IIA Poland. He is also a graduate of the IESE Business School's Advanced Management Program.

He is also the author of the book "Zdążyć przed hakerem. Jak przygotować firmę na cyberatak", whose ambition is to bring the subject of cybersecurity closer to managers with a diverse (non-technical) professional profile, including members of management and supervisory boards.
