
Joanna Zakrzewska
Joanna is a seasoned executive with extensive experience in management, audit, and finance. She has held leadership positions in both Polish and international companies, including Amazon, Deloitte, KPMG, LOT, and Noble Bank. Her passion for enhancing organizational efficiency extends to her role as an external advisor. Currently, she serves as a Member of the Supervisory Board at KGHM Polska Miedź S.A.
Joanna is an expert in internal audit, corporate governance, and risk management, as well as a staunch advocate for sustainable development. She is proficient in the creation, implementation, and certification of internal control systems.
Beginning her career in financial audit, Joanna specialized in the analysis and examination of financial statements. She served as the SOX (Sarbanes-Oxley Act) Implementation Coordinator across Europe, assessing control systems within international business environments.
As Director of Internal Audit, she established and restructured internal audit functions, ensuring the highest levels of compliance and operational efficiency, while working closely with supervisory boards.
Joanna pursued her studies both in Poland and abroad. She graduated from the Faculty of Economics with a degree in Organization and Management and was a scholarship recipient at Hogeschool voor Economisch Administratief Onderwijs.
Additionally, she completed postgraduate studies in "Business Psychology" at Kozminski University.
She holds international qualifications in finance and internal audit: Fellow of the Association of Chartered Certified Accountants (FCCA) and Certified Internal Auditor (CIA) from the Institute of Internal Auditors.
Joanna is the Chair of the ACCA Poland Panel and a member of the Association of Independent Non-Executive Directors, the Program Council of the "Financial Director Forum," the Institute of Internal Auditors, and Chapter Zero Poland.
Author or co-author of publications, training programmes, reports, and analyses in the fields of internal audit, risk management, sustainable development, and the luxury goods market. A frequent speaker, lecturer, and jury member for the Responsible Business Forum's competition recognising the best "Sustainable Development Reports."
Through volunteer work, Joanna has established structures and promoted organizations supporting diversity and women's professional development. She is an ambassador for the 30% Club Poland, a social campaign promoting diversity at corporate boards and C-level.
She is also an experienced mentor.
