Michał Fura

Leader with many years of experience, specializing in the management of corporate affairs, shaping the regulatory environment and external relations, as well as developing effective communication strategies that support investments, mergers and acquisitions, transformations, and growth, and increasing company value.

Currently, he is responsible for regulations and external relations at BAT in Poland, advising the company's management on regulatory changes that affect its business operations, investment potential, and growth opportunities. Previously, he held the position of Director of Public Policy and Communications at UPC in Poland and the CEE region, where he was responsible for external relations supporting Liberty Global's infrastructure investments in Poland and the CEE region, as well as in other European countries, including the United Kingdom. He was also responsible for external and internal communication during the integration of group companies across six markets in Central and Eastern Europe (Poland, Czech Republic, Slovakia, Hungary, Romania, and Luxembourg), introducing a new strategy, rebranding, and a cultural transformation process involving 5,000 employees.

He has participated in several mergers and acquisitions, overseeing external relations and communication, including the acquisition of Multimedia by UPC Polska, the sale of Liberty Global’s businesses in the CEE region, including in Poland, where a transaction valued at over PLN 7 billion led to the merger of UPC with mobile operator Play, creating the largest convergent services provider in the market. He was responsible for the communication strategy and positioning of the newly formed Play Group after the transaction.

As Vice President of the Digital Poland Foundation, he supported the development and realization of its mission, aiming to make Poland one of the main centers of digital innovation in the world, co-creating several initiatives, including the Digital Festival, the largest educational and technological initiative in Poland, part of the European Digital Days. For the past five years, this event has opened the world of new technologies, digitalization, and artificial intelligence to everyone. He was also involved in Digital Champions CEE – a ranking of the 100 largest technology companies in the Central and Eastern European region.
