Zima Robert

Robert Zima CFA

A finance-market professional with more than two decades of experience in asset management, funding and public finance. For over fifteen years he was affiliated with Poland’s Ministry of Finance, where, as Director of the Public Debt Department, he oversaw domestic and international sovereign-bond issuance and state-budget liquidity, executing, among other milestones, the world’s first sovereign green bond. He subsequently held a managerial financing role at the state development bank – Bank Gospodarstwa Krajowego and served as Director General of the Ministry of Development and Technology. From 2022 to 2024 he was CEO of TFI PZU SA, one of the country’s largest investment-fund companies.

He has extensive supervisory-board experience, including posts at PZU Open Pension Fund (audit committee member), Bank Gospodarstwa Krajowego (risk and audit committees) and Vinci SA, an alternative-investment company, and he sat on the Council of Poland’s Bank Guarantee Fund from 2017 to 2019. He has also acted as an external public-debt expert for the International Monetary Fund. An alumnus of AGH University of Science and Technology (MSc in Applied Mathematics) and doctoral studies in economics at the Warsaw School of Economics, he lectures at the University of Warsaw’s Faculty of Management. He is a CFA charterholder and a graduate of executive programmes on AI and blockchain in financial markets at Stanford Graduate School of Business and MIT Sloan School of Management.
